Why Your Relationship with God Is Crucial?

Relationships are a MAJOR part of our lives. From our personal lives to professional lives – we can’t get away from relationships. you and I cannot have healthy relationships without recognizing and depending on God as our source
Every living thing must remain connected to its source:

  • Plants must remain in the ground or they will die.
  • Fish also must remain in water or they will die.
  • Man is no different!!!!!

When God created man—  He said let us create man in our own image and likeness  — Genesis 1:26

Genesis 2:7 – New King James Version —
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Of everything God created — the plants, the animals — man is the only being that God breathed his life into —-

➤ God created man to be vitally connected and dependent on God as his source.
➤ In Genesis — God provided everything that Adam needed in the garden but God commanded Adam not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil — God’s told Adam that the day he would die —this death would be separation from God
➤ Well in Genesis 3 – disobeyed God and he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil –God became disconnected from God – Adam used to be able to fellowship with God freely but after he sinned he ran away from God’s presence in fear and shame.
➤ Fear and shame were never part of the nature of man, God created man in his image and likeness, To live like God and reign on the earth. Adam and Even who used to enjoy fellowship with the Almighty God—could not approach God. However due to their sin and their consciousness of their sin — they ran away from God in shame and fear.
➤ This is serious. Because God created man to depend on God as his source. And even today — sin consciousness if not properly addressed will keep man running away from God’s presence.

What does this have to do with relationships? Well –  man’s relationship with God was a vital part of the book of Genesis – the book of beginnings.

–God’s relationship with mankind was a major reason God created man. Of all God’s creation — man was the only being with whom God — the all mighty God chose to fellowship.  God so honored man by creating man in his image and likeness.

∎ Psalm 8:3-6 – the Psalmist so amazed by God’s great love and affection for mankind said this— Psalm 8:3-6 – English Standard Version 3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is man that you are mindful of him,and the son of man that you care for him? 5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings[a] and crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;you have put all things under his feet,

This is serious!!! But when Adam sinned —- he got disconnected from God and lost his source of life, his source of value, and his source and his ability to function the way he was created to function

–  Before Adam sinned – nowhere do we see hate or hatred
Before Adam sinned – nowhere do we see envy, jealousy, or murder—
However, we see the result of the fall manifested in a depraved and ungodly human relationship —   Cain and Abel  (Genesis chapter 4)   Cain kills his brother Abel
But God’s love is so amazing that God didn’t leave man in his fallen state. Through God’s plan of redemption, God gave his son Jesus to die on the cross to pay for the penalty of man’s sin. Jesus rose from the dead so that all mankind can receive the very life of God.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 – New American Standard Bible – God Set Eternity in the Heart of Mankind

11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, without the possibility that mankind will find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.

Why is Ecclesiastes 3:11 so important? On the inside of every soul is a longing that will forever remain until man is reconnected to God — the lover of his soul.
Man can try to fill the void in his soul with material things, with fame, or other external things — none of these satisfy until he comes to Christ —-
Jesus is the prince of peace — Only in Christ — does the weary soul find peace —
Shalom is a Hebrew word meaning peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility
Again you ask what does this all have to do with relationships??
SO often you find when anyone hasn’t come to a place of peace — that one will never be able to properly relate with himself/herself or with others. So often people have internal battles – and their think it is external.
Jesus said to the woman at the well in John 4:14  —  ESV – but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
John 17:3 – New International Version
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
In conclusion — I want make some important points –
The greatest quest of the human soul — is peace. Until one really receives peace with God— he wont be able to experience the peace — within himself and he wont be able to be at peace with others
Hebrews 4:9-10 – English Standard Version

9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

  1. Recognize that God created you to depend on him.
  2. We only come to the place of inner peace and rest in Gods unconditional love for us
  3. We can then loves others when we know how much we are loved —

John 13:34- – King James Version
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
